Why an Orthodontist?

Metal & Clear Braces
Metal braces are the more traditional approach to aligning teeth, using metal brackets and wires. They are also used to correct your bite and other potential flaws of the teeth and jaw.

Clear braces are designed to blend into the natural color of your teeth and appear less visible. With clear braces, the bracket (piece adhered to each tooth, holding the wire in place) is typically made up of ceramic or plastic, but still function like traditional metal braces.

How do braces work?
Your braces are specially designed to fit your teeth and to hold an orthodontic archwire. The archwire puts a slow and steady pressure on your teeth, which will act to straighten your teeth and give you a beautiful healthy smile. Sometimes, springs or rubber bands are used in conjunction to the braces to move teeth in a specific direction and occasionally other orthodontic appliances are used as well. Treatment can range from 6 months to 2 years depending on your individual needs but we’re confident that when you’re finished you’ll have a smile that you’ll love!

Invisalign®
Today, many people are selecting Invisalign® for teeth straighten. It offers a modern approach that is comfortable and virtually invisible. No more brackets, wires, or tightening! Instead, you are fitted for a custom set of aligners that you switch out approximately every two weeks, shifting your teeth until aligned as per your treatment plan.
