Composite Bonding |
 |
Bonding is a composite
resin material that can lighten stains,
close up minor gaps, correct crooked
teeth. and restore fractured or decayed
teeth. Bonded fillings are used for
smaller more conservative restorations
and they are relatively cost effective
compared to using porcelain materials.
Silver/mercury fillings are thought
to expand over time, cracking teeth
and causing the need for more extensive
dentistry such as crowns (caps) and
even causing the need for root canals.
On the other hand, bonding is an adhesive
technique, and when used, the restoration
chemically adheres to tooth structure
strengthening it. Bonding material
can be applied to sculpt, color and
shape the tooth. Then a high-intensity
light hardens the resin, and the tooth
is finely polished; creating a natural
looking, gorgeous smile. |

| Inlays
and Onlays |
 |
Bonded fillings that
are used to restore small areas of
decay where great strength is not
required and the tooth is able to
withstand the forces of chewing. With
larger areas of decay, and where only
thin areas of tooth are present, increased
hardness and strength of the restorative
material is necessary. Inlays and
onlays are milled in the office from
a solid block of porcelain. There
are no impressions or temporaries
required, as the restoration is designed
digitally on our state-of-the-art
CEREC computer. You receive your final
restoration in one appointment. It
is permanently bonded to match the
natural tooth color. Inlays and onlays
are much more conservative procedures
than crowns (caps), as they require
significantly less tooth preparation,
they leave the healthy part of your
enamel untouched. Inlays and onlays
are the perfect solution to creating
healthy, beautiful, conservative,
and long lasting restorations for
you teeth. |

| Crowns |
 |
If you have a tooth
that has fractured, has a large cavity
with old metal filling that has failed
or has had root canal therapy, your
tooth can be restored with a porcelain
crown, also called a cap is a custom
made restoration that completely covers
the tooth, restoring and protecting
it. Crowns can also be used for cosmetic
purposes, enhancing the appearance
of a tooth that is discolored of misshapen. |
